Applying to study in Poland is straightforward:

  1. Find a program.
  2. Apply.
  3. Wait for the results!

Basic requirements include:

  • High school diploma (for bachelor’s programs) or a bachelor’s degree (for master’s programs).
  • Transcript of grades.
  • Proof of English proficiency (e.g., IELTS 6.0 or equivalent).

For some programs, additional requirements may apply, such as entry exams in subjects like Biology or Chemistry for medical programs.

2. Admission Steps

  1. Submit your documents for evaluation and pay the university application fee.
  2. Wait for the university’s decision.
  3. Receive your conditional acceptance letter.
  4. Pay the tuition fee and submit all required documents.
  5. Receive the final decision on admission and your visa letter.
  6. Book your accommodation.
  7. Book your visa appointment.
  8. Purchase health insurance.
  9. Apply for your visa.

3. Required Documents

Universities will ask for specific documents for evaluation and admission. While requirements vary, these are the most commonly requested documents:

  • High School / Bachelor Diploma:
    • Apostille (for countries part of the Hague Convention).
    • Legalization (for other countries).
    • Translation (into English or Polish).
  • High School / Bachelor Transcript:
    • Translation.
    • Apostille or Legalization.
  • Eligibility Document: Confirmation that your diploma allows you to study at a certain level in your home country.
  • English Proficiency Proof: Document showing a B2 level of English (e.g., IELTS 6.0).
  • Passport Copy.
  • Digital Photograph.
  • Program-Specific Documents (if required):
    • Portfolio (e.g., for Architecture or Design programs).

4. Legalization and Nostrification

Educational documents issued in the EU, EEA, or OECD member states are recognized automatically in Poland by law. However, candidates from other countries must undergo a foreign diploma recognition procedure.

Recognition of foreign documents may be processed automatically or through an administrative procedure by a province education superintendent in Poland.
